Audio Output

The Audio Output menu is for configuring options that operate across some (though not all) of the audio modes. At present, Wave and Noise mode respond to the settings configured in this menu.

There are currently 2 configurable settings:

Vol Mode

When using a volume modulator, sets the volume algorithm between one of three options.

  • Retro

Uses an integer based addition and subtraction for volume scaling. This is very simple and produces artifacts, which can be desirable. These artifacts tend to give a sort of high passed sound as the volume is lowered.

  • Integer

This uses integer division and sits sort of in between Retro and Modern, though it does require changing the envelope as it is fairly coarse.

    • Modern

Uses floating point multiplication and properly scales the wave without introducing artifacts (to the limits of the 12-bit DAC anyway).

Vol Auto

This is for automating the volume. There are currently two options:

  • Envelope

Uses the configured envelope to automate volume.

    • LFO

Uses the configured LFO to automate volume. Currently this requires enabling the LFO in the Step Output, a limitation that will hopefully be removed in the future.

As with other menus, left knob changes the setting; the right knob changes the value of the setting. Press and hold left to go back to the Main Menu.
