Jenny (Generated Waves)

Jenny is a semi-high quality mode that provides 4 classic waveforms (PWM, Saw, Triangle, Sine). When using PWM, the pulse-width can be modulated manually and/or via CV. The other modes offer a basic wavefolder.

This mode uses the full 12-bit resolution of the DACs and 128-sample waveforms. Thus is has less of a "chiptune" sound, though still has its own sound. In particular, the PWM mode allows for a much greater pulse-width range than can be realized in Wave mode. It is not quite as precise as the Commodore SID chip, but has a similar sound.

Jenny was made to be simple by design there are minimal controls. Select the option with the left knob, and adjust said option with the right. When "Wave" is selected, the right knob cycles between the 4 modes. When Mod Base is selected, the right knob allows setting the modulation base. This is how you can either dial in a manual value or how you can set the "center" for CV modulation, allowing the center to be offset within the range. You might want this if you want a "thin" sounding PWM but still want it to wiggle about via CV.

That's all there is to it! Note that the audio and step settings apply, so you can use the volume envelope or LFO for volume modlation (see Audio Output), and/or use the Step output as a 2nd audio output (for detuning or whole step offsets - see Step Output).
